2019/03/13イノシシ ソルト（♀）の訃報
3月12日、イノシシのソルト（メス）が死亡しました。
9日まで元気な様子で餌も完食していましたが、10日の夜から体調が急変し、餌をほとんど食べなくなりました。11日は寝たり起きたりの様子でしたが餌を全く食べなくなり、翌朝、室内で亡くなっているのを確認しました。解剖の結果、慢性の腹膜炎で循環不全が死因と考えられます。
野生では10年ほどと言われる寿命のなか、子宮蓄膿の治療等もおこないながら、飼育下で17年間、元気に暮らしました。
“SALT”, female of wild boar passed away on March 12th. She looked fine on 9th, however, on 10th turned bad suddenly and didn’t eat at all. On 11th she stood up sometimes but we made sure her death in the next morning. After an autopsy, it was found that she had peritonitis and circulatory insufficiency. Though wild boar’s life-span is about 10 years in the wild, she had spent 17 years in a healthy condition with treatment of pyometra in Asa Zoo.
